About the role:
As the Director of FP&A, you will be leading Embark’s finance team and reporting to the CFO.  Your
role will be to lead and grow the team in analyzing the financial performance of the business, build annual
financial plans, be a cross functional business partner to department leaders and enhance FP&A systems
and best practices across the Company. This role involves high-profile strategy and operating projects,
face-time with senior management, and delivering impactful analysis and recommendations, intended to
help our fast growing Company to scale while also accelerating your career goals.

What you’ll do:

  • In collaboration with the CFO, plan and lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Manage the long-term planning, implementation and business strategic analysis capabilities of the finance team.
  • Build, manage and mentor the finance team, enabling career growth of team members.
  • Coordinate and manage financial analysis, modeling, forecasting and reporting activities to ensure efficient and effective financial operations.
  • Coordinate closely with Embark’s accounting team to integrate financial reports into actionable financial analysis and reporting to business owners throughout Embark.
  • Identify and implement/integrate advanced financial analysis tools into the FP&A process to enhance, optimize and automate FP&A reporting.
  • Representing the finance function, continuously educate department budget owners on budget to actual variances and other financial metrics that are important to their functions and that support their decision making.
  • Identify, evolve and track key performance indicators.
  • Create effective reporting modules from our new ERP system
  • Drive continuous process improvement and automation to improve team efficiency
  • Promote a metrics-driven culture across the Company

Experience and skills we’re looking for:

  • Undergraduate degree in business, accounting or finance, MBA Preferred
  • At least 7-10 years of relevant work experience in finance/FP&A
  • Demonstrated progression into increasing levels of management/leadership in finance
  • Proven ability to recruit, train, manage and mentor a high performing FP&A team
  • Strong analytical skills and a keen interest in applying them
  • Positive attitude/energy and strong communications skills
  • Strong foundation in and understanding of accounting principles
  • Proficiency in multiple tools and systems (e.g. Netsuite, Excel, SQL, data extraction tools, etc.) relevant to the FP&A function
  • Experience with 3PL inventory and supply chain data and logistics strongly desired
  • Proficiency using the Google suite of office/business products for general communication and integration with existing processes
