About the role:

Embark is building the next generation of AI and ML-powered products. We are looking for a talented and motivated Mid-Level AI/ML Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will play a key role in developing and deploying innovative AI/ML solutions, leveraging established as well as cutting edge technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, deploy & monitor AI & ML-powered applications.
  • Integrate AI & ML systems with our existing GraphQL APIs and React-based UIs.
  • Extend our data layer to support AI use cases using tools such as vector stores, graph DBs or search tools.
  • Create robust search capabilities to handle AI use cases (RAG, semantic search, hybrid search).
  • Deploy and manage our AI and ML infrastructure (we are an AWS shop).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define the scope of ML/AI-powered capabilities and phases of development. 
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AI/ML applications and integrations.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI, ML, and related technologies.


Experience we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in AI/ML development.
  • Proficiency in Python and ML libraries and tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, SageMaker, JupyterHub).
  • Experience with boto3, llama-index or similar AI libraries and tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
  • Understanding of GraphQL or REST and experience with API integrations.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities esp. Mentoring.
  • MLOps and AIOps Practices such as eval pipelines, quality control and observability methods.
  • Expertise in Data Science & data modelling for ML model development or to improve the performance of AI-powered applications. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building & deploying AI/ML models to production environments.
  • Knowledge of data systems and data pipelines.

Salary: $153,000- $195,000
